Black Sands – Bonobo

Simon Green aka Bonobo appears to have progressed in leaps and bounds since his previous album ‘Dial M for Monkey’. Black Sands is significantly more accomplished and refined, with with the focus on instrumentals rather than samples giving this a beautiful rich and multi layered sound.

Andreya Triana provides the vocals on Eyesdown, The Keeper and Stay the Same bringing a warm honesty with her husky tones.

Stay the Same with heavy bassline layered with saxaphone  slightly dark and moody

The poignant title track is reminiscent of eastern European folk music with unexpected sweeping symphonies
